Delicious! Delightful! Cache Creek Vineyards Chardonnay (Vintage 2008)

This week on Tastings! Travis and Rob were drinking Cache Creek Vineyards—Chardonnay (Vintage 2008, White). From Wine Expeditions Newsletter:

“This wine is produced in Lake County, California just north of Napa and East of Mendocino. It is made up of 100% Chardonnay from grapes grown right on the maker’s estate. A fragrant nose of fresh fruitiness with notes of kiwi, ripe apples, peaches and pears on top of a nutty undertone will excite your nose. Rich and full flavored with a rich, buttery layer and creamy tropical aftertaste, this bright yellow wine is a joy. Malolactic fermentation and French oak add a vanilla background to opulent layers of complex flavors. It has a smooth and rich mouth feel that lingers with a rich aftertaste.”

But, what do real people think about this wine? Here’s what Travis had to say:

“Wow! This is probably the best white wine I have ever tasted! Can we order more of this? It was a delightful burst of flavor in my mouth with a delicious fruity finish. This is really good! I wish I had a lobster tail with this right now.”

Overall, the duo really liked this month’s selection and rated the Cache Creek Vineyards Chardonnay (Vintage 2008, White) 8.25 out of 10.
